Hybrid Perform – Rohan –
Rohan, a 17 year old aspiring basketball player, approached Hybrid 8 weeks ago with a specific goal of getting physically bigger and stronger. After weeks of hard work, Rohan finished his programme achieving amazing athletic results improving his overall fitness, agility, strength and body composition.

What initially inspired you to get started with the Hybrid perform program?
As an aspiring basketball player in America, I had struggled with being smaller then many of the other kids over there. I had decided that I wanted to spend the summer holidays working on both my strength and conditioning, whilst also getting physically bigger. Luckily, my dads good friend Manpreet suggested Hybrid where he was also working out. I came down for a consult, and was immediately drawn to Hybrid and its perform programme.
What were some of the struggles you found during the process?
I found times where it was harder to follow the diet as I usually eat everything and anything. Cutting out certain ingredients made it harder to follow as you need to be more careful with what you eat. In addition, I also found it quite a struggle to eat the sheer amount of food needed in order to gain mass in the short period of time. I eat a lot as is, but I had to add on a massive amount of calories to my regular diet.
How did your coach help you during the process?
Gabe was awesome throughout the process. He helped me understand how important form and technique are for each exercise. I never had a moment where I felt like I couldn’t ask him about what I could be doing outside the gym to maximise my training, wether it be diet related or just a general enquiry, Gabe was always there to help out. We really hit it off from the first time we met, and he’s helped me so much along the way.
What was surprising to you now that you’ve completed your program?
To be honest, the biggest surprise was just the quantity of food that I had to consume to reach my own personal goal. I had always imagined that to get leaner and fitter, you needed to be really minimising what you eat. So, you can imagine how surprised I was when told that I needed to eat more! I’ve learnt that with my goals I had in mind, it’s more to do with WHAT I’m actually eating as apposed to the quantity itself.
What’s the plan going forward with your coach?
Getting bigger and stronger is such an addictive feeling! The plan moving forward is definitely to capitalise on the situation, take the knowledge and technique I have learnt, and put that into practice through my own training. The past 8 weeks have helped my game so much, I can only begin to imagine the level it could take me to if I continue to implement this into my regular training throughout the season.
Who would you recommend hybrid perform to?
I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who has any athletic goals in mind. I had such a great experience that my dad has already been talking about signing up my younger brother and getting him involved. Hybrid has so many different programmes and coaches that it really does seem super versatile. As a whole, I would recommend the gym facilities and trainers to anyone. It’s truly helped me to open a new chapter in my athletic career, and I can’t wait to see how its helped me when I’m back out there on the court.
