Lockdown has certainly thrown a few spanners in the works and has caused us all to adopt a new daily routine. This can be hard, especially at the start, as it is unfamiliar and goes against the grain. Like many of us, it has made us rethink, readjust and reevaluate our goals to coexist with our current circumstances.
Despite what is happening we can always set a goal, create habits and execute a plan given any situation. Below are 5 top tips for resetting your goals to get yours through this rollercoaster ride of a time.
1. Remember those new year’s resolutions you set? Now is a great time to tick one-off.
Today is a great day to look back at the goals you wrote down at the start of the year, pick one and go get it!
2. Write down the goal and 3 daily habits you can commit too to that will help get you there.
In order to achieve that goal, it’s time to write down 3 daily habits that you KNOW you can STICK to that will help get you there.
3. Stick it on the wall and visualise it every morning.
Life gets busy. We get it. Daily visualisation and reminders will help keep what you want to achieve at the forefront of your mind so you never waiver.
4. Give yourself a time frame.
Setting a specific time frame to achieve it will keep you focused, committed and dedicated. A goal without a timeframe is just wishful thinking.
5. Keep track of it daily with daily accountability.
Track. Track. And Accountability. That way you can measure your progress towards it and you have the ability to keep yourself accountable to you and your goal.
Remember that it is perfectly fine to update your goals, habits and daily rituals when you need to based on your current circumstances. In fact, this can be the defining factor in achieving and exceeding your own expectations.
